Later that night I called my dad to let him know that I couldn't find a flight to get me there in time for the big game, and that I would see him when he got back. He called me Saturday to let me know that he and my cousin had gotten to see Elton John, and were even in a section which had alowed them to go on stage for the song Saturday Night. To make matters worse he told me that he could've gotten another ticket in the same section. He said "the show was great, and it was a must see." I let out a slight sarcastic chuckle, and said "thanks for the call dad, but I'm off to bed." I called him the next day and asked him to plae some bets on the game for me, he asked what bets I had wanted, I told him all the bets I had planned to make that day. After some discussion he said my bets would be made. I watched the game from start to end watching to see if the bets I had asked my dad just 4 hours ago would be winners or losers. After the final seconds ticked away and the game clock read 00:00 I cheered as I was a big winner in the wagers that I had made. All of a sudden I thought I heard my phone ring. As I searched for it I realized one thing.........it wasn't my phone, it was my alarm clock. I looked over, the clock read 8:00 I hadn't missed my flight after all. When all was said and done it was a great trip. I did get to see Elton John, just had seats in a different section. Also all my Super Bowl bets were winners. On my way home Monday morning as I looked out the window of the plane and saw the Vegas strip getting smaller, I realized something very important.....some nightmares have happy endings. Can't wait for Vegas and Super Bowl XLII in 2008.
