Later that night I called my dad to let him know that I couldn't find a flight to get me there in time for the big game, and that I would see him when he got back. He called me Saturday to let me know that he and my cousin had gotten to see Elton John, and were even in a section which had alowed them to go on stage for the song Saturday Night. To make matters worse he told me that he could've gotten another ticket in the same section. He said "the show was great, and it was a must see." I let out a slight sarcastic chuckle, and said "thanks for the call dad, but I'm off to bed." I called him the next day and asked him to plae some bets on the game for me, he asked what bets I had wanted, I told him all the bets I had planned to make that day. After some discussion he said my bets would be made. I watched the game from start to end watching to see if the bets I had asked my dad just 4 hours ago would be winners or losers. After the final seconds ticked away and the game clock read 00:00 I cheered as I was a big winner in the wagers that I had made. All of a sudden I thought I heard my phone ring. As I searched for it I realized one thing.........it wasn't my phone, it was my alarm clock. I looked over, the clock read 8:00 I hadn't missed my flight after all. When all was said and done it was a great trip. I did get to see Elton John, just had seats in a different section. Also all my Super Bowl bets were winners. On my way home Monday morning as I looked out the window of the plane and saw the Vegas strip getting smaller, I realized something very important.....some nightmares have happy endings. Can't wait for Vegas and Super Bowl XLII in 2008.

Slept in
- As I lie in bed finding it hard to sleep with the high anticipation of my upcoming trip the next morning. I tossed and turned thinking of the bright neon lights that lit up the Las Vegas sky, the spectacular water show at the Bellagio, the sights and sounds of all the machines and people in the casinos, and the sight of all the different people I will see walking the streets. Finally, after what seemed like many hours of the tossing and turning I finally fell asleep. It seems like I've only been sleeping for minutes when my alarm sounds for the first time, I hit snooze once, twice, and a third time . I roll over looking at my alarm clock and spring to my feet realizing that I had overslept, the clock read 10:45. My flight was scheduled to leave in just over an hour, however I had to be there in 15 minutes to check in for the flight. I hurried to get ready and to the airport to try and make my flight. I arrived at the airport just as they had made the final boarding call for the flight. I hollered to the ticket counter to hold the plane for me, but they said it was to late. As I left the airport frustrated at the people at the ticket counter, I looked up only to see the very plane I was supposed to be on heading for the city of Las Vegas without me. As my frustration boiled over for those at the airport and those whom were travling with me I realized that there was only one person to blame for my tardiness and that was me. When I arrived back home I tried to find a flight that could get me there in time for the big Super Bowl game. To my dismay I was unable to find a flight that could get me there on time. To be Continued.......
